Colon street in Cebu City

It may look like any ordinary street but this crowded stretch overflowing with shops, stalls, sidewalk vendors, people, and passenger jeepneys is, believe it or not, the oldest in the Philippines. This thoroughfare in downtown Cebu City known as Colon Street.
Colon Street is a crowded street in downtown Cebu City that is often called the oldest and the shortest national road in the Philippines. It is named after Christopher Columbus. It traces its origins to the town plan by Miguel Lopez de Legazpi, the Spanish conquistador who arrived in the Philippines to establish a colony in 1565.
Colon, a bit run-down now, was the site of fashionable shops, offices and movie houses. It was once the heart of Cebu City's shopping and business activity, but in recent years (specifically during the early 1990's), much of this activity has shifted inland to the more modern, bigger and diverse commercial and business districts now spread in almost all of the urban areas of the city in what used to be considered residential and leisure settlements.
In the present Colon have its University of The Visayas where I graduated my Bachelor of Laws. The shopping Mall are all there, DVD's shop, Metro Gaisano Colon, 711 convenient store, variety of hotels which are all affordable Street Drill ... this is the very area where SINULOG FESTIVAL will pass by the very landmark for for the festive's entertainment.

It is a treasure to be in this City of Cebu, Schools, BPO, Condominium, House and lot, beaches are all pack in this place.
